Anna Pottie is a multidisciplinary artist located in Northern Alberta, whose practice includes literary, visual, and media arts.
Creativity has been a constant thread in her life, from writing and illustrating handmade books as a child to building a career in communications and graphic design. In recent years, she’s returned to her personal art practice with renewed energy, exploring new techniques and mediums while reconnecting with her love of visual storytelling.
Inspired by music, literature, and the complexity of human experience, Anna often draws on fragments of narrative and emotion to spark ideas. Her work frequently merges traditional and digital tools, blending imagery and textures to create layered pieces that reimagine perception and invite reflection.
Based in Wood Buffalo, Anna’s practice continues to evolve alongside the region’s growing arts community. Anna’s collage poetry has been published in Northword Literary Magazine. Her artwork has been featured on the cover of the Arts Council of Wood Buffalo’s 2024 Annual Report and exhibited locally, including the Collective Threads exhibition at the Kirschner Family Community Art Gallery in 2025.

My collages are built from what’s been left behind — torn pages, forgotten images, fragments of meaning. In layering these pieces together, I explore the spaces between belonging and isolation, hope and disillusionment, and the strange contradictions of being alive
